Supermarket
After the show in a theater in Rochefort, Miranda Colclasure (Mimi Le Meaux) and Joachim Zand (Mathieu Amalric) go to a supermarket to do some shopping. At the cash register, the hostess (Anne Benoît) reveals to the American dancer that she loved the show and that she even tried to reproduce part of it in front of her husband. Then comes Joachim. The cashier is happy to meet her idols. Better yet, she wants them to see what she can do with her breasts, right there in front of everyone. But the producer and the artist, embarrassed, decline. The woman, offended, insults them and even throws a yogurt at them to make them leave.
This very funny scene from Tournée, notably because of the comic strength of the talented Anne Benoît, was filmed in the Intermarché de Fouras in Charente-Maritime. Indeed, all the second part of the feature film takes place in this department of the Atlantic arc. The latter has notably injected money for the needs of the shooting. Thus, Mathieu Almaric’s teams and the actors took up residence in La Rochelle, Dolus d’Oléron and Rochefort. In the small town of Fouras, famous for its fort, the sequence on the pier was also packed.
The film’s script is based on L’envers du décor, a short story by Colette published in 1913. In her autobiographical account, the novelist describes her experience as an actress in a troupe that toured France and the world between 1906 and 1912.
It took Mathieu Amalric 2 years to build his burlesque troupe composed of Mimi Le Meaux, Dirty Martini, Kitten on the Keys, Julie Atlas Muz, Evie Lovelle and Roky Roulette.
