Castle
If the heart of the production of La Loi de Gloria was located in Angoulême and its surroundings, the scenario justified the renting of the castle of Verteuil, about forty kilometers from the city center. Property of the La Rochefoucauld family, the glorious building, renovated several times over the years, has been the scene of sequences shot outside, in the gardens, but also inside. A way for the director Didier Le Pêcheur to highlight the exceptional cultural and historical heritage of the Charente.
Several scenes are shot at the castle of Verteuil. This is where the flashbacks are produced that are supposed to lift the veil on the mystery surrounding the death of young Samantha. Fourth TV movie of the saga La Loi de… La Loi de Gloria is one of the only ones to use a monument as important as the Château de Verteuil. Being able to shoot indoors also meant that the team did not have to shoot in a studio.
The director Didier Le Pêcheur directed three episodes of the mini-series La Loi de Barbara. He also directed the TV movie La Loi de Simon.
Rue du Château
Built in 1080, the Château de Vertueil was occupied by the English during the Hundred Years War.

During the Second World War, it sheltered French troops and refugees from Alsace-Lorraine. It also plays a role in the resistance effort. Classified as a historical monument on March 31, 1966, it was renovated by the architect Frantz Jourdain. A series of seven Unicorn Hunt tapestries were discovered, before being sold to John D. Rockefeller Jr.. They can now be seen in the Cloister Museum in New York.
