Lucie ! I finally find you!

Antoine (Philippe Minyana)

If the action of Blanche et Marie is supposed to be set in the north of France, it is indeed in Angoulême and its surroundings that the majority of the film was shot. The village where Blanche (Miou-Miou) and Marie (Sandrine Bonnaire) live is a clever mix of several places like Angoulême, Sers or Matha. All of them are located in the department of Charente.

Decorated for the occasion, the theater of the national scene of Angoulême has since recovered its original appearance. Nevertheless, it remains largely recognizable on the screen.

1941

The action of Blanche et Marie begins in 1941 in occupied France.

Angoulême Theater - National Scene

Inaugurated in 1870, the Angoulême Theater is a multidisciplinary place, anxious to allow the access to the culture to the greatest number.

With more than 200 performances per year in many disciplines, the theater of Angoulême can boast a rich panel of shows. Dance, theater, music or even circus arts, nearly 50,000 spectators, young and old, crowd the halls of the institution to attend the many elements of the program.

Built in the former park of the castle of the Counts of Angoulême, three performance halls share the space which also has a bar, a place to relax and meet before the performances.
