Acropolis of Athens
If the team of Murder Mystery 2 did travel to Hawaii and Paris, it did not honor with its presence the city of Athens, partly visible at the end, when the characters played by Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston fly over the Acropolis. For this, director Jeremy Garelick simply used aerial shots of the famous ancient monument and then inserted them into the editing of his film. A way to conclude in beauty this crime comedy inspired by the writings of Agatha Christie.
Lost in translation
In Murder Mystery 2, Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston cross swords with French actors like Mélanie Laurent and Dany Boon. The latter and Adam Sandler got along particularly well during the shooting as the American comic explained to the newspaper L’Alsace: “It’s funny, but we realized that we laugh about the same things with Dany Boon. I hung out with Dany a lot on the weekends during the shooting. We would play golf together and have dinner. We have very similar views of what we think is funny, about our family or even about people in general.“
Jeremy Garelick, the director of Murder Mystery 2, wrote the screenplays for three films: The Break-Up, The Hangoverand The Wedding Ringer.
Acropolis of Athens
Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Acropolis of Athens is located on a rocky promontory in the city center and covers just over 3 hectares.
Enthroned on a limestone plateau 156 meters high, the Acropolis of Athens has alternately served as a religious sanctuary and a citadel. Holding a prominent place in mythology, the Acropolis is said to have seen the clash of Athena and Poseidon for control of Attica. The main building takes place on a site already inhabited in the Neolithic period. Research has confirmed that the Acropolis was born from the middle of the 13th century BC.
