“- So ma’am, if I’m to believe my predecessor’s records, we’re 23 months behind in your tax payments.

– Yes… but then… you’ll notice that at least I pay my taxes in France huh.”

Mr. Duplay and Audrey Fleurot

It is in front of the famous building of the Ministry of Economy and Finance in Bercy that Andrea (Camille Cottin) finds one of her exes, Clément (Robert Plagnol), to ask him for a favor following an imminent tax audit at the agency. The building comes back a second time, when Mathias (Thibault de Montalembert) accompanies Audrey Fleurot there for her tax stories.

All the episodes of the series are inspired by real facts. The actors and actresses involved do not appear on screen but Dominique Besnehard, one of the creators of the series and ex-agent to the stars, confirms that each of the stories did happen, including the episode on the tax center with Audrey Fleurot. “I happened to accompany Béatrice Dalle to settle her tax affairs at Bercy. The guy who received us asked Beatrice: ‘What do you have?’ She had this response worthy of Arletty: ‘Everything is in my bag!‘”.

As if to echo the title of the series, the tax officer tells Audrey Fleurot that she will have to pay her taxes with a 10% surcharge.

Ministry of Economy and Finance

Often referred to as “Bercy” because it was established in this area of Paris in 1988, the Ministry of the Economy and Finance is the ministerial department responsible for the management of public finances and the economic policy of the French State.

Composed of five buildings, the architectural complex covers an area of 2,800,000 ft2.

On the roof of one of the buildings, the “Colbert”, a helipad was erected. However, the latter, rarely used, is now abandoned, especially because of the construction of the François-Mitterrand library, whose construction disturbs the aerology of the site.
