Wheeler House
All the houses used in the production of Stranger Things have one thing in common: only the facades were used. Like all the others, the Wheeler home in East Point, one of Atlanta’s suburban cities, was not captured by director Shawn Levy’s cameras. He, as well as all the other directors of the show, have just the facade before using sets specifically built in the Screen Gem Studios in Atlanta.
Considered one of the most important series of its time, Stranger Things had a slow start. It may be hard to believe, but Matt and Ross Duffer, the showrunners, have been turned down between fifteen and twenty times by TV networks. The reason given? The producers did not understand how a series could feature children without addressing them.
In the end, Stranger Things proved Netflix right, becoming the most-watched series in the world in 2017 and 2018. Each season is awaited by millions of fans. The reviews were also very good, as proven by the numerous awards accumulated over the first three seasons.
If it doesn’t equal Game of Thrones in the field, Stranger Things has still seen 14 of its characters die in the first three seasons.
