Having a wide variety of sets at his disposal, director Tristan Aurouet shot several times in the vicinity of Royan’s stadium of honor, using both the stadium itself, whose architecture does not go unnoticed, and the building of the cinema Le Lido, where the team occupied a private apartment for a few days.
The heart of the story of Mineurs 27 is thus well and truly situated around the stadium of honor. The latter, always empty, witnessing the misadventures of the characters, does not receive any sportsman in the story. Tristan Aurouet uses it as a kind of arena where, among other sequences, the conclusion of his film is played out when Wilson (Nassim Si Ahmed) is apprehended by the police after a nighttime chase through the city streets.
Mineurs 27 is the first film in which Marie-Ange Casta, the younger sister of Lætitia Casta, appears.
Stade d'Honneur
This emblematic stadium of the city of Royan is located near the beach of Grande-Conche, in a district having been the subject of a great renovation.
Not far from the cinema Le Lido, the stadium of honor welcomes soccer fans all year long. South of Franck Lamy Boulevard, it is part of a large complex and is located next to a park. Close to the shore, it receives the matches of the local teams and remains recognizable thanks to its architecture.
