Police station (front)
Just arrived from Paris, the young Arthur du Plessis goes to Angoulême to take up the post of police captain. Commissioner René Stavros (Christian Rauth) forces the young captain to team up with Margot Laurent (Micky Sébastian/Vanessa David), a famous genealogist from the “Balcon du Sud-Ouest”.
Although he was reluctant at first, Plessis accepted this collaboration seeing the talent and the strong contribution of Margot in the investigations. The series constantly juggles the past, present and future.
To situate the station in Angoulême, the production was based on the city’s museum, which serves only as a front for the station for the exterior scenes. The interior scenes were shot in one of the former DCNS buildings in Ruelle-sur-Touvre.
The first season of the series employed 600 extras and about sixty silhouettes, mostly from Charente.
Musée Angoulême
The museum of Angoulême, formerly called the museum of fine arts of Angoulême, is one of the main museums of the city, located in the historic heart.
Installed since 1920 in the former bishop’s palace, after having been installed for a long time in the town hall, the museum of Angoulême is the oldest museum of the city.
Composed of two floors, the museum presents an important archaeological, ethnographic and artistic collection. It is also a place that regularly hosts conferences and temporary exhibitions.
The museum has three collections, two of which are considered to be of international importance: the collection of African and Oceanic arts and the collection of archaeology. The last collection is on Western arts presenting a set of painted or sculpted works and a selection of ceramics from the 16th to the 20th century.
