Municipal swimming pool
Inspired by a true story, The Source tells the story of a young man who wants to become a surfer but can’t swim. When he jumps into the deep end of the municipal pool, he attracts the attention of Tony Lamouche (Christophe Lambert), a former bodybuilder. At first reluctant to accept the advice of the former top athlete, Samir (Sneazzy) finally agrees to listen to him.
Wishing to limit costs by shooting as close to each other as possible, the filmmaker Rodolphe Lauga chose the sunflower pool in Chasseneuil-sur-Bonnieure, not far from Angoulême and therefore from Soyaux, where the shooting started. An interesting place in more than one way because not only is the pool located near several other places used in the plot, but it also has a very original architecture.
Remarkable because it is one of the last sunflower pools in France, the pool of Chasseneuil-sur-Bonnieure is more than happy to see a great actor like Christophe Lambert near its pools. The actor appears on screen very muscular, to fit with his character of former professional bodybuilding. Muscles that the actor did not have to shape in the weight rooms. The specialists of special effects having made a custom-made suit to offer to Christophe Lambert a new and very impressive body.
Christophe Lambert shot for the first time under the direction of Rodolphe Lauga for La Source.
Piscine Tournesol de Chasseneuil-sur-Bonnieure
Among the last sunflower pools in France, the one in Chasseneuil-sur-Bonnieure welcomes swimming enthusiasts.
Equipped with a removable roof, retractable in good weather, this community pool is composed of a large pool dedicated to swimming. Aquagym classes are also offered. The building was built in the same period of time as the other swimming pools of the same kind in France, between the end of the 1970s and the beginning of the 1980s. If the one of Chasseneuil-sur-Bonnieure is not part of it, several of these pools have been integrated into the Heritage of the 20th century.
