Stephanie (Noémie Schmidt)
Having failed her entrance exams to Polytechnique, Stéphanie (Noémie Schmidt) is forced to study at the University of Jouy. Not being a local resident, she resides in the college boarding school. But, she has no money to pay her rent. She will have the idea with Toni (Paul Scarfoglio) and Simon (Arthur Mazet) to launch an erotic messaging service on minitel.
The building is a real boarding school on the CCI training campus in Angoulême. Stephanie’s room is a real room in building 21 on campus.
The choice of Angoulême was an obvious one for its director Simon Bouisson. In an interview for the CNC, he explains this choice: “Very quickly, we decided to shoot in New Aquitaine, and particularly in Angoulême, a city where certain neighborhoods have remained in their original state. It is almost enough to put a camera there to find yourself in the 80s. Of course, we also built some sets or patinated existing locations.”
The budget of the series Cheeky Business amounts to only 1.2 million euros.
