Hair salon
With its architecture similar to that of the villages of northern France, Matha is nevertheless located near Angoulême, where director Jacques Renard chose to set up the heart of the production of his film Blanche et Marie. Thus, the name of the village is never mentioned in the scenario so as not to spoil the illusion. However, it is indeed in a real hairdressing salon that the director shot the scenes with Patrick Chesnais and Sandrine Bonnaire, at 5 rue Gambetta.
Still recognizable today, almost unchanged since the mid-1980s, Gambetta Street has regained its tranquility. The hair salon is still there, even if its appearance has been largely modernized.
Blanche et Marie is the sixth feature film in which Gérard Klein plays.
