Movie Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (2023)
Edgin (Chris Pine) tells the story of how his fate changed while he was still a member of the Harpers, an order of peacekeepers. One of the scenes takes place on a stone bridge actually located in the Tollymore Forest in Northern Ireland, not far from the border with the Republic of Ireland.

We’re a team of thieves. And when you do this, you’re bound to make enemies. Sometimes those enemies come looking for revenge.

Edgin (Chris Pine)

Production of Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves begins in April 2021 in Northern Ireland. While the interior sets are built at Titanic Studios, near the docks where the ship of the same name was launched on May 31, 1911, the team exploits many locations in nature such as the famous Tollymore Forest.

Heroic fantasy forest

Tollymore Forest, already famous among hikers and other tourists, received unprecedented exposure in the early 2000s thanks to the HBO seriesGame of Thrones. Visible from the first episode, the place had already hosted filming. Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, for their part, settled on Foley’s Bridge, a small stone bridge remarkably preserved. Here the character played by Chris Pine remembers his past while trying to convince his jailers to free him.

Northern Ireland at the forefront

Northern Ireland has been used for many years as a location for fantasy films and series. A preserved country in which the directors of Dungeons & Dragons have found many playgrounds as Jonathan Goldstein explained to Belfastlive: “There are a lot of places that look very old and medieval and that works very well for us. And then there is the natural beauty that is so striking.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is the fourth film adapted from the role-playing game of the same name.

Foley's Bridge

This small stone bridge is part of the vast Tollymore Forest in Northern Ireland.

Tollymore Forest Park acts as the gateway to the Morne Mountains, south of Belfast. It is the first state park in all of Northern Ireland. Created on June 2, 1955, it covers 630 hectares and includes many buildings nestled in greenery, such as the Clanbrassil barn, the Hermitage or the Corne bridge. Home to the richest flora and fauna, it lends itself wonderfully to hiking and other explorations. Tollymore features in the first episode of the fantasy series Game of Thrones. Part of the forest was also logged in the movie Dracula Untold.
