From the beginning, the Duffer brothers, the showrunners of Stranger Things, have a very clear idea of the image they want to give of Hawkins, the fictional town in which the action takes place. Composed of different places actually located in Atlanta and its region, in towns like East Point, Douglasville or Norcross. It is in the latter that they find the perfect Italian restaurant to organize the date of Jim Hopper (David Harbour) and Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) in season 3.
If Dominick’s, the restaurant in question, specializes in Italian cuisine, the Duffer brothers decided to change the name to Enzo’s. The owners have no problem with this. A false sign is installed but the interior decoration is only slightly modified. The publicity that the series, then watched by millions of fans around the world, offered the restaurant encouraged significantly higher attendance. The fact that Jim and Joyce’s date doesn’t go as planned in the show doesn’t discourage fans of the show.
Stranger Things has always had very close ties to the work of Stephen King. Matt and Ross Duffer also wanted to make a new adaptation of It, one of the most famous novels of the horror master. Unfortunately for them, the studio preferred to hire Andrés Muschietti. Nevertheless, Finn Wolfhard, the interpreter of Mike in Stranger Things, chosen by the Duffer brothers to play Richie in It, stayed on board. The latter had to make certain adjustments to be able to reconcile the two shootings.
The first three seasons of Stranger Things have a total of 214 different filming locations.
Dominick's Italian Of Historic Norcross
Reference in terms of Italian gastronomy in the agglomeration of Atlanta, this restaurant highlights an authentic character of the most appreciable.
It was in 1996 that this Italian enclave opened its doors in Norcross. With a menu made up of family recipes, this restaurant is directly inspired by pre-war Italian cuisine. With its decoration modeled on that of Italian houses and its fresh products, Dominick’s notably offers delicious lasagna, ziti to die for or shrimp penne. Its wine list also offers beverages from Tuscany, Sicily or Veneto.
