Church Notre-Dame d'Obézine
Aware that filming in Angoulême is an opportunity, benefiting from the full collaboration of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and the Charente department, the production of La Loi de Marion did not shoot inside Notre-Dame d’Obézine but it shines on the screen all the same, during a key scene between Stéphane Metzger and Sandrine Bonnaire.
Sandrine Bonnaire is the ninth actress to play the lead role in a TV movie of the saga La Loi de… This one, preceded by the two series of three episodes La Loi de Barbara, with Josiane Balasko and La Loi d’Alexandre, with Gérard Jugnot, has successively directed Daniel Prévost, Richard Anconina, Zabou Breitman, Victoria Abril, Jean-Pierre Darroussin, Charlotte de Turckheim, Sandrine Bonnaire and Richard Berry.
The script of La Loi de Marion was written by Céline and Martin Guyot, the directors of La Loi de Pauline.
Église Notre-Dame d'Obézine
Built in 1895, completed in 1960, this church is one of the heritage treasures of the Charente.
In neo-Gothic style, Notre-Dame d’Obézine has been listed as a historical monument since September 19, 2001. It is located on the former site of the Bézines chapel, demolished at the end of the 18th century. It is freely inspired by the Sainte-Chapelle in Paris and is built according to a Latin cross plan. Stained glass windows were added in 1942. They are the work of the Mauméjean brothers and illustrate scenes from the New Testament.
