Beach of La Salée

Movie Amitiés sincères Stéphan Archinard and François Prévôt-Leygonie (2013)
Walter Orsini (Gérard Lanvin) has a second home on the island of Ré, not far from the beach of La Salée. Where the film Amitiés sincères ends, when he meets his best friends Paul and Jacques, far from the hustle and bustle of the capital.

“- It’s a little cold isn’t it?

It’s the island it’s Re not Mauritius!”

Paul (Jean-Hugues Anglade) and Walter (Gérard Lanvin)

In many ways, Amitiés sincères takes the form of a declaration of love to the island of Ré. The team of directors Stéphan Archinard and François Prévôt-Leygonie settled on the island for a week, running a house on the shore, near the beach of La Salée where the conclusion was shot, when Walter (Gérard Lanvin), Paul (Jean-Hugues Anglade) and Jacques (Wladimir Yordanoff) meet again after having settled their accounts.

The production of these sequences, in the middle of a natural site praised for its beauty, also gave rise to the shooting of the video clip of the song Vingt ans by Jean-Louis Aubert. The same directors were in charge of putting in image the lyrics of the song since totally adopted by the inhabitants of Sainte-Marie-de-Ré.

If the shooting on the beach of La Salée did not last very long, many scenes were produced there. A great opportunity for the actors to taste the hospitality of the inhabitants. The island of Ré is also one of the only places that does not play a role in Amitiés sincères. A film in which La Rochelle actually plays Paris. The team wished to make up the city as a French capital in order to enjoy its beautiful light.

Jean-Louis Aubert composed a song especially for the film. It is entitled Vingt Ans (Twenty Years) and was filmed on the beach of La Salée.

Plage de La Salée

Sainte-Marie-de-Ré has four beaches: Montamer beach, Basse Bénale, Port Notre-Dame and the inevitable La Salée beach.

Its fine sand and idyllic panorama have made La Salée one of the most popular beaches on the island of Ré. It is the place where everyone rushes to perfect their tan, enjoy the ocean or go for a walk. A spot also conducive to water sports. It is also a famous surfing spot and many fishermen have made it their headquarters when the weather permits. The surrounding nature also encourages beautiful walks in all seasons.
