Beach
If he exploited many sites already used by Steven Spielberg in the first Jurassic Park, like the Jurassic Kahili ranch, Joe Johnston also wanted to make the public discover new places. This is how his teams in charge of the scouting presented him with Pilaa Beach, one of the most beautiful but also the most unknown beaches of Kaua’i. It is here that he organizes the meeting of the group of survivors, led by Alan Grant (Sam Neill), with the military.
Marked by many changes and other accidents, Jurassic Park 3 could have been quite different. First of all, it was a question of bringing Alan Grant back to the island in relation to the escape of several pteranodons. In the final version, the character returns to find a lost child near the Jurassic Park site. A first idea that producer Steven Spielberg and Joe Johnston both refused.
The end was also turned upside down. It was for example question that the soldiers undergo an attack of several pteranodons. Instead, the writers opted for a more peaceful conclusion, in which Alan Grant and the other survivors, accompanied by the military, take off in a helicopter, before watching the famous pteranodons flee.
Sam Neill and Laura Dern are the only surviving actors from the first Jurassic Park to be cast in this third installment.
Pilaa Beach
This beach is one of the most beautiful in the entire Hawaiian archipelago. It consists of two sections of fine sand separated by a rocky point.
Away from the tourist itineraries, Pilaa Beach is one of the little-known treasures of Kaua’i’s north coast. Suitable for swimming, it sometimes offers surfers the opportunity to master large waves. It is also popular for its magnificent seabed. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg owns a sublime home there.
