Address Tavern On the Green West 67th Street, New York, État de New York, États-Unis

Originally built as a sheepfold in the 1880s, the Tavern on the Green is now a fancy restaurant in an idyllic setting.

In the 1880s, Calvert Vaux turned the site into a sheep barn to accommodate the 700 sheep grazing in Sheep Meadow.

In 1934, Robert Moses transformed the premises into a restaurant as part of his renovation project for the town.

Since then, many managers have succeeded one another, adding a dance floor, a terrace and inviting prestigious personalities to perform at dinner shows or simply to taste a new recipe.

And what dishes! The hay bales have given way to Scottish salmon, ribs of beef with chardonnay or, ironically, caramelized lamb.

Sumptuous cuisine, bucolic setting… the Tavern On the Green have necessarily inspired many monuments of pop culture.
