The law of series in L.A.
Los Angeles isn’t just for movies, it’s also an ideal setting for series. Whether they are supposed to take place in Washington, San Francisco or simply in L.A., the City of Angels is common to all these fictions.
The devil in the City of Angels makes sense. Tom Ellis plays the lord of the underworld who came to Earth to escape his father’s punishment and remains cloistered in this creepy place, torturing souls. Instead, the handsome executioner prefers the company of humans on the streets of L.A. Although much of the show is only filmed in Canada, Los Angeles gladly lends the Sunset Tower Hotel at 8358 Sunset Boulevard to represent the Lux nightclub, its Long Beach beaches, the Griffith Observatory in the eponymous park or The Mayan, the theater at 1038 South Hill Street in which hundreds of demons rebel against their boss.

New Girl
The bubbly Jess Day (Zooey Deschanel) moves into a roommate after a difficult breakup. And this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship, an improbable love story and all kinds of trouble. The building of this merry band is located at 836 Traction Avenue while two other locations are used for the Griffin, Nick Miller’s (Jake Johnson) bar. The outside is located at 3000 Los Feliz Boulevard and is actually called the Griffin. The interior is at 3198 West 7th Street. This is also the address of the residence where Nick and Caroline (Mary Elizabeth Ellis) plan to move into in season 1. Quite a program.
American Horror Story
Each season is independent of the other, but the very first one still leaves its mark. To get to the famous Murder House, head for 1120 Westchester Place. Be careful, however, the owners were not happy to learn that their newly acquired home had been used as the location for the filming of this horrific series.

Washington seems a long way from Los Angeles. Actually, not so much. For NCIS, anyway, it’s all the same. While the spin-off, NCIS: Los Angeles, proudly displays the streets of the City of Angels, NCIS is more timid and uses only rare shots to maintain the illusion of shooting further east. As for the locations of the shots, they are multiple during the investigations, but the most remarkable is the house of Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) located at 2647 South Magnolia Avenue. If the interior is just a studio set, the exterior is enough to immerse yourself in the series.
Were you planning on going to 1329 Prescott Street in San Francisco to take a picture of yourself in front of the Halliwell sisters’ house? save yourself the unnecessary miles and go to 1329 Carroll Avenue in Los Angeles. This is where the manor used to stand proudly. Some places to see in Los Angeles are the Opera restaurant where Piper (Holly Marie Combs) works, or the police station at 712 South Santa Fe Avenue, but most of the show was filmed in Vancouver, Canada.
Everyone has heard about the famous investigator with the raincoat, the invisible woman, the faithful doggie and the gleaming Peugeot 403. Peter Falk roamed the streets of the City of Angels in search of the slightest clue for his unusual investigations. Among the most striking places are the 2005 Colorado Boulevard drive-in diner, the Travel Town Museum at 5200 Zoo Drive in which the inspector meets the director of the CIA or the legendary Barney’s Beanery restaurant at 8447 Santa Monica Boulevard in which Columbo, enjoying a good chili, meets Margaret (Patricia Mattick) in the Ransom for a Dead Man pilot.
Sons of Anarchy
If the words bikers, anarchists, drug dealers or arms dealers make you shiver, you’re probably a fan of Sons of Anarchy. Los Angeles is the perfect city to represent Charming, a fictional city in San Joaquin County, the favorite playground of our favorite bikers. In L.A., you can find Vivica’s house at 2829 South Dalton Avenue, Arcadio’s girlfriend’s house at 4336 La Clede Avenue or the Chinese restaurant at 3200 Glendale Boulevard.
A novelist with writer’s block, a bit of alcohol, drugs and disastrous relationships, that’s the atmosphere of Californication. And to immerse oneself in it a little more, Hank’s loft (David Duchovny) at 26 Brooks Avenue, Lew Ashby’s house (Callum Keith Rennie) at 2451 Laurel Canyon Boulevard or The Shack restaurant at 185 Culver Boulevard put you in the bath.
Sydney Bristow (Jennifer Garner) is a super spy with a thousand faces and incredible talent. While many scenes are shot in Walt Disney studios, the series also uses real sets. The Griffith Observatory, the Citibank Center at 787 West 5th Street where Sydney works in the first episode of the series or the Millennium Biltmore Hotel at 506 South Grand Avenue, representing a hotel in Moscow.
Once again, Los Angeles disguises itself as Washington DC to host the adventures of Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz). The Los Angeles Museum of Natural History on West Exposition Boulevard serves as the backdrop for the Jeffersonian Institute, the Los Angeles Convention Center at 1201 South Figueroa Street serves as the airport, and the Standard Hotel at 550 South Flower Street with its rooftop pool proudly appears when Brennan and Booth “travel” to Los Angeles.
