If it speaks of aging, When I’m Sixty-Four is nevertheless one of the first songs composed in the late 1950s by Paul McCartney while he was still living with his father on Forthlin Road. Performed by the Beatles for the first time at the Cavern Club, it is part of the set list of concerts given in Hamburg. It was not released until several years later, after touring had ceased, and appeared on Sgt. Pepper’s Lenely Hearts Club Band. It has notably been covered by Keith Moon, Cheap Trick and Barry Gibb.
