In 1989, on the same day, forty-three babies were inexplicably born to women who were not pregnant and to whom nothing connected. Sir Reginald Hargreeves, a billionaire industrialist, adopts seven of these children and creates The Umbrella Academy to prepare them to save the world. But not everything goes according to plan. As the children become teenagers, the family falls apart and the team is disbanded. The six surviving members, now in their thirties, reunite when Hargreeves dies. Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Vanya and Number Five work together to solve the mystery surrounding their father’s death. But the disunited family falls apart again, unable to deal with personalities and powers that are too different, let alone the looming apocalypse…
