Led by showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, The Rings of Power was able to count on the support and advice of Simon Tolkien, the grandson of J.R.R. Tolkien. The most expensive series in history with more than a billion budget, it focuses on the return of the wizard Sauron after the defeat of his master Morgoth. Galadriel and Elrond, two key protagonists of Peter Jackson’s films, play a central role in it.
