Movie The Exorcist William Friedkin (1973)

Adapted from the novel of the same name by William Peter Blatty, The Exorcist is based on a true story. While the estimated budget for the film was $12 million, it grossed more than $402 million at the worldwide box office, making it one of the highest grossing films of all time. Nominated for ten Academy Awards, it won two. A prequel and two sequels were produced after this first opus.
