Fifth movie of the Scream saga, this film is the first to be produced since the death of Wes Craven, the historic director of the franchise. Organizing the return of the original actors Courteney Cox, Neve Campbell and David Arquette, he also introduces new characters and twists the codes of horror films within a story rich in twists, under the direction of the duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett. Scream also sees the return of the screenwriter of the first part Kevin Williamson, here present in the production. The shooting took place in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic between May and November 2020 in Wilmington, North Carolina.
