From the album Beau Repaire, Rendez-vous en Gare d’Angoulême was written and composed by Jacques Higelin, like all the other songs on the disc. Released on April 1, 2013, it was recorded at the La Fabrique studio in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. It tells of the singer’s brief meeting with a stranger one day in October 2002, when he was giving a concert in the Cité des Valois. It was also the same evening that Jacques Higelin improvised the piece on stage, for twenty-five minutes.
