Third and final studio album from The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Electric Ladyland was recorded from July 1967 to August 1968 at Olympic Studios in London and Record Plant Studios in New York. Of an exceptional duration of 75 minutes and 47 seconds, it sees Jimi Hendrix playing the bass. The latter not having managed to get along with Noël Redding. The cover, on which the left-handed virtuoso wanted to see a photograph of Linda Eastman, Paul McCartney’s wife, was decided entirely by the record company. In 2018, however, the wishes of Jimi Hendrix were respected on the occasion of the reissue celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the disc. The tracklist contains hits Crosstown Traffic and Voodoo Chile. Jimi Hendrix invited his friends Jack Casady, Steve Winwood, Buddy Miles and Dave Mason to the recording.
