In Rome, Julius Caesar is preparing to publish his Commentaries on the Gallic War. However, Bonus Promoplus, his publisher, advised him to omit the chapter entitled “Reverses suffered in the face of the indomitable Gauls of Armorica”, which speaks of his failures in front of the famous village of Asterix: he felt that, for posterity, this passage would be a blot on Caesar’s curriculum vitae. Caesar finally gives in, specifying that no one should know that this embarrassing chapter has been censored, otherwise Promoplus will go and advise the lions in the circus.
