1. Ace Ventura, a zany Miami

Ace Ventura, animal detective. The funniest of all detectives (Jim Carrey) makes Miami his playground in the first opus. Whether it’s tracking down a missing dolphin from Joe Robbie Stadium, the fictitious name for Sun Life Stadium on Don Shula Drive, or investigating Ray Finkle (Sean Young) in a mental hospital, actually a former Spanish monastery enthroned at 16711 West Dixie Highway in North Miami Beach, Ace is everywhere!

2. Bad Boys

“Bad boys, bad boys Whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do When they come for you” To the tune of Bob Marley’s famous song, Mike (Will Smith) and Marcus (Martin Lawrence) investigate drug trafficking on the streets of this Florida city. No one can stop the two police Bad Boys. Among the must-see places, Marcus’ house at 737 Northwest 15th Avenue, the fictitious police station at 73 West Flagler Street or the Biltmore Hotel at 1200 Anastasia Avenue are a must see.

3. There’s something about Mary

The Farrelly brothers’ greatest success, There’s something about Mary is the romantic comedy par excellence. The girl everyone wants (Cameron Diaz) has a choice of suitors, but it’s the lucky Ted (Ben Stiller) who manages to seduce her. An orthopedic surgeon, Mary has her practice at 701 Brickwell Avenue, while her parents’ home is at 3300 Granada Boulevard.

Tony Montana (Al Pacino) is a true self-made-man. Cuban refugee arriving with nothing in Miami, the gangster manages to become a powerful drug trafficker. Admittedly, this success is not legal and was achieved by shedding blood, but still. A symbol of his success, the house he occupies is famous, but don’t look for it here, it is actually located at 631 Para Grande Lane in Montecito, California. However, the motel where the famous chainsaw murder took place is the Sun Ray Motel at 728 Ocean Drive, now a CVS Pharmacy.

5. Baywatch

Sea rescuers acting as officers of the Emerald Bay Florida Drug Enforcement Agency, here is the Baywatch speech. Beautiful beaches, blazing sunshine and magnificent ocean, Miami is also part of the cast, especially for its Ocean Terrace beach to the north.

No holiday for the British secret agent. James Bond (Sean Connery) is in Florida after destroying the secret base of a Mexican drug lord, but the services catch up with him. Felix Leiter (Cec Linder), his CIA agent friend, sends him a message from M (Bernard Lee) asking him to keep an eye on Auric Goldfinger (Gert Fröbe). This surveillance, 007 does it at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach Hotel, a sublime 5-star complex located at 4441 Collins Avenue.

7. Miami Vice

Adapted from the television series of the same name, Miami Vice follows the adventures of two drug cops in a merciless war against drug dealers. The city of Florida is of course a character in its own right, unveiling its marina, the Mansion Nightclub at 1235 Washington Avenue or the Greenberg Traurig Building located at 333 South East 2nd Avenue.

Although the film is typically New York, Miami is also entitled to its small share of The Godfather. The residence of Hyman Roth (Lee Strasberg) is located on Keystone Islands, 2045 North Hibiscus Drive, north of the city.

9. Iron Man 3

Far from the hustle and bustle of New York, Iron Man 3 was partly filmed here. Among these places, the Miami Beach Resort & Spa, the complex where Tony (Robert Downey Jr.) snubs Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) in the New Year 2000, Point Dume, the cliff on which Tony’s house is supposed to be built, the Dania Beach Bar & Grill, 65 North Beach Road, where Tony and Rhodey (Don Cheadle) chat and finally the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, located at 3251 South Miami Avenue, represents Killian’s mansion.

10. 2 Fast 2 Furious, Miami in speed

Fasten your seatbelts, make your tires squeal, here is the last movie of this top, 2 Fast 2 Furious. The second film in what is now a formidable franchise, the adventures of Brian O’ Conner (Paul Walker) without his friend Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), on the run, take place in the Florida city. The Firehouse MRKT restaurant, located in a former firehouse at 1401 North Miami Avenue, is the starting point for one of the races, as well as the Pearl Champagne Lounge at 1 Ocean Drive, a meeting place between Carter Verone (Cole Hauser), Brian and Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson), are among the places to see.
