Airing in two parts between May 27 and July 1, 2022, Stranger Things Season 4 is breaking streaming records on Netflix. Used to Atlanta, the production decided to make a small detour to Albuquerque and Vilnius for this new season.

Russian Prison

Jim Hopper (David Harbour) is held prisoner in the middle of Kamchatka, in a Russian penitentiary known for the brutal methods of its jailers. All the scenes involving the Hawkins sheriff were shot in a real prison, in Vilnius, Lithuania. Located on the square of the same name in downtown Vilnius, Lukiskes Prison is known to have been occupied by the Gestapo and the Saugumas during the Nazi occupation. Thereafter, it was mainly used to receive prisoners in the process of being transferred and had only 180 permanent prisoners. Remarkable for its architecture, it closed in 2019.

Lenora Hills High School

Now a California resident following the tragic death of Jim Hopper (David Harbour), Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder), her two sons Will (Noah Schnapp) and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), try to live a normal life. The children attend Lenora Hills High School. A facility actually located in New Mexico. With a demanding and comprehensive curriculum and a wealth of extracurricular activities for its students, Eldorado High School is one of the best known schools in the Albuquerque area. Adopting an eagle as its mascot, it is particularly popular for its track and field team. It is located in the Eldorado Heights neighborhood on the east side of the city, not far from Hoover Middle School.

Rink-O-Mania

Settled in California Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Will (Noah Schnapp) and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) organize their reunion with Mike (Finn Wolfhard). Will agrees to accompany his girlfriend and Will to Rink-O-Mania, a roller rink. A must-see for teenagers and rollerblading enthusiasts in the Albuquerque area, this skating rink got a makeover during the filming of a famous series.

Entrance to the secret laboratory

Having learned of the great danger that the city of Hawkins must once again face, Dr. Owens (Paul Reiser) is charged with finding Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) in order to bring her to a secret laboratory to recover her powers. Laboratory whose entrance is located in the middle of the desert. Set amidst towering rock formations, Zia Peublo is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A little more than 600 people live in this remarkably preserved village. A place whose history closely follows that of the entire region, a few miles from Albuquerque, far from shopping centers and other tourist hubs.

House of Victor Creel

Vecna, a powerful creature from the Upside-Down, attacks Hawkins high school students. A terrifying monster capable of bewitching its victims, whose story seems to be linked to that of Victor Creel (Robert Englund), a mysterious individual who lived in a disquieting house in the Hawkins area. House actually located in Rome in the state of Georgia. The Claremont House in Rome was built in 1882 for Colonel Hamilton Yancey and his family. With six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, extensive grounds, and beautifully appointed with period furniture including many antiques, it becomes a bed & breakfast. Its Victorian-Gothic architectural style is a delight for visitors. In 2019, the owners decide to close store. The Claremont House was then put up for sale for just under $500,000.
