Xavier Bétaucourt is a French comic book writer born in 1963 in Lille.

After working as a journalist, Xavier Bétaucourt began his career in comics with Bouclier humain in 2004, with Dominique Hennebaut in the drawings.

He produced several albums with Jean-Luc Loyer: Noir métal in 2006, Le grand (A) in 2016 and La balance, le glaive et les fourmis in 2021.

He also wrote the script Quelques jours à vivre with Olivier Perret about a palliative care unit.
