Artist Mazan

Mazan is a comic book author, born in 1968 in Périgueux.

Mazan, whose real name is Pierre Lavaud, studied at the Angoulême Fine Arts School. In 1988, he received the Alfred Avenir prize at the Angoulême Festival.

His first album was entitled Le grand mal. Then came Lumière sur le front, Le vaillant petit tailleur, Apprendre à frissonner, Dans l’cochon tout est bon, Donjon monsters 1, Khéti fils du Nil with his wife Isabelle Dethan.

In 2012 and 2015, he published two albums of the Mimo series with Isabelle Dethan, Jean-François Tournepiche and Ronan Allain.

He is also one of the founding members of the Atelier Sanzot and the Atelier du marquis in Angoulême.
