Maurice Fombeure is a French poet and writer born in 1906 and died in 1981.

Born in Jardres in 1906, Maurice Fombeure studied at the college in Châtellerault and then at the teacher training college in Poitiers in 1922. He crossed paths with the poets Max Jacobs and André Salmon.

He published his first collection of poems in 1930. He was awarded the Grand Prix de Poésie of the City of Paris in 1958 and became a member of the Académie Ronsard.

He published Soldat, D’amour et d’aventures, Arentelles or Sous les tambours du ciel.
