Maurane is a Belgian singer and actress born in Ixelles in 1960 and died in Schaerbeek in 2018.

Claudine Luypaerts, known as Maurane, began to sing in the neighborhood of the Grand Place in Brussels when she was only 14 years old.

In 1979, she participated in the show Jacques Brel en mille temps. It is only nine years later that she knows the success in the second version of the opera-rock Starmania where she takes the role of Marie-Jeanne. The following year, she released her first album Maurane in which we find Toutes les mamas.

In 1991, she released her second album on which are Sur un prélude de Bach, Mentir and Du mal which sold 450,000 copies.

She published 14 studio albums and 5 live albums.
