Mariah Carey is an American singer-songwriter born in 1969 in Huntington.

In 1987, Mariah Carey moved to New York City where she worked a series of odd jobs for a living. At the same time, she wrote song lyrics.

She met producer Tommy Mattola through Brenda K. Starr, for whom she sang backing vocals on her songs.

In 1990, she released her first album, which sold 15 million copies worldwide. It includes Vision of Love, Love Takes Time, Someday and I Don’t Wanna Cry. Mariah Carey released a dozen albums between her debut and 2020.

At the same time, she acted in feature films (The Bachelor, Glitter, Girls Trip) and TV shows (Ally McBeal, Empire…).
