Joe Dante is an American producer, writer and director born in 1946.

Joe Dante moved to Los Angeles to work as an editor for New World Pictures in 1974.

Three years later, he directed his first film, Piranhas. This was followed by Screams in 1981.

His first big success, The Gremlins, allowed him to make a sequel in 1990.

In the meantime, he made The Inside Story in 1987.

He also directed Panic on Florida Beach, Small Soldiers, Looney Tunes Goes to Work, The Hole and Burying the Ex.
