After studying at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d’Art Dramatique in Paris, Jérôme Deschamps joined the Comédie Française. But he left in 1977.
The following year, he began a fruitful collaboration with Macha Makeieff, his partner. Together, they created a theater company, Les Deschiens, whose success was revealed with the television series on Canal+ in 1993.
He was appointed director of the Théâtre national de l’opéra comique from 2007 to 2015.
In addition to directing plays, he is an actor for theater and film but also director.
