After publishing articles about cinema in L’intransigeant and Paris-Matinal, Jean Dréville shot L’argent, his first documentary in 1928.
He directed La cage aux rossignols in 1944, then Les casses-pieds and La ferme du pendu with Bourvil. His last feature film, La nuit des adieux, was released in 1966.
He also participated in Napoleon by Abel Gance for which he was an actor in 1927.
