    Jacques Villeret studied at the Conservatory of Tours and Paris in 1973.

    He played his first role in RAS by Yves Boisset the same year.

    Then came Dupont Lajoie, Un amour de pluie and Mon premier amour.

    He won the César for best actor in 1978 for his role in the film Robert and Robert.

    His performances in La soupe aux choux, Papy fait de la résistance, Le dîner de cons, Les enfants du marais, earned him real recognition from the public.
