Jacques Glénat is the founder of the French publisher Glénat.

At the age of 16, Jacques Glénat published his first fanzine Smurf. He wrote articles and interviews with comic book authors.

In 1972, he published his first albums under the name of Editions Glénat. He won the prize for best French publisher at the 1974 Angoulême festival.

In 2012, he had the Sainte-Cécile convent in Grenoble renovated as the headquarters of his company.
