Haruki Murakami is a Japanese author born in Kyoto in 1949.

Born in a family surrounded by books, Haruki Murakami was destined to become a film scriptwriter.

In 1979, he published Listen to the Song of the Wind. Then came the novels: Skies of Rain Skies of Fire, Underground in 1998, Chronicles of the Spring Bird, The Sputnik Lovers in 2003, 1Q84 between 2010 and 2012 or The Murder of the Commander in 2018.

He has been awarded many prestigious prizes in literature such as the Franz Kafka Award or the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2016.
