    The very long career of Gisèle Casadesus began in 1933 and ended the year of her death in 2017. She was one of the doyennes of French actresses.

    After a first prize at the conservatory of music and declamation and a passage at the Cours Simon, she entered the Comédie Française in 1934 and became the 400th member of the illustrious house five years later. In addition to the plays performed in the theater of Molière, she also held roles in private theater.

    Her filmography spans from 1934 to 2014, from Marcel L’Herbier’s L’aventurier to Aytl Jensen’s Plus jamais ça.

    She won two Molière for best actress in a supporting role in 1993 and 1994 but also another for her entire career in 2003.
