Brigitte Giraud is a French author born in 1966 in Sidi Bel Abbès, Algeria.

Translator, bookseller and journalist, Brigitte Giraud published her first novel, La chambre des parents, in 1997.

Translated into some twenty countries, her books have received numerous awards: L’amour est très surestimé, Goncourt short story prize in 2007, Une année étrangère, Prix du Jury Jean-Giono in 2009.

She is the winner of the Goncourt 2022 prize for her novel Vivre vite.
