Born to a Polish Jewish mother and a Polish Jewish father, Art Spiegelman decided to tell the story of their lives in Maus, an album published in 1986. It tells the story of his father’s life in a concentration camp, where the characters have animal features. This comic book is the only comic book to have won the Pulitzer Prize in 1992.
