Ozark: the Netflix series in 6 locations
Carried by a cast including Jason Bateman and Laura Linney, Ozark was largely filmed in Atlanta because of the tax benefits Georgia offers. The Ozark Mountains are nevertheless superbly highlighted.

This is where the Byrds move in when they decide to leave Chicago. You can see some real shots filmed on the spot in the Ozark Mountains. A very popular holiday resort, the Lake of the Ozarks meanders through 220 km2. That’s why it’s called the Magic Dragon. Until now, Mount Ozark has been best known in film as the backdrop for the movie Winter’s Bone, in which Jennifer Lawrence made her debut.
The House of Byrde
Lac Lanier, Georgia, USA
Marty Byrde (Jason Bateman) and his family moved to the lake in the Ozark Mountains. The headquarters of their vast money-laundering operation. Although the action is supposed to take place in the Ozark Mountains, the production of the series has been largely established in the Atlanta area. The Byrde’s house and the adjoining lake are thus in reality at the level of Lake Lanier, north of Atlanta. As well as the home of Sam Dermody (Kevin L. Johnson), Wendy Byrde’s boss (Laura Linney) and Pastor Mason Young (Michael Mosley). Lake Allattotna was also used for some exterior plans.
The Blue Cat Lodge Bar

At the beginning of the series, Marty Byrde bought the Blue Cat Lodge, a bar not far from his new home. Created for the needs of the show, built from scratch by the production, the Blue Cat Lodge later became a real restaurant. Renamed JD’s on the Lake, it is located on the shores of Lake Allatoona, north of Atlanta, about a 40-minute drive from downtown. The owners have also kept the original sign.
Lickety Splitz Striptease Club

Not content with buying the local restaurant, Marty Byrde also bought the strip club. The latter serves as a cover for money laundering. The vast majority of Ozark’s interiors were shot in studios. The striptease club therefore but also the interior of the Byrde’s house or the Langmore family’s caravan. The series earned Jason Bateman the Emmy Award for Best Direction, while Julia Garner, who played Ruth Langmore, won the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress.
The Silver Skillet

In the first season, Agent Roy Petty (Jason Butler Harner) makes a stop at this 1950s dinner party. A very real restaurant, specializing in South American cuisine. It offers one of the best breakfasts in the country – according to the sign proudly displayed at the entrance – as well as a wide range of sandwiches and other fried chicken and potato salads. The Silver Skillet was also seen in the film The Founder, with Michael Keaton, in Taken 3, Living Legends and A New Chance.

The godfather of the Mexican mafia, Del (Esai Morales) lives in this castle. The thug used to work with Byrne, for their illegal business.
This prestigious establishment, particularly renowned for its wine cellar, this hotel situated in the middle of the vineyards also has a golf course, a spa and several tennis courts. Its cuisine, as well as its decoration, are largely influenced by the most famous French castles.
