Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is a young high school student who still goes to school despite his Spider-Man superpowers! It is in this establishment that he befriended his best buddy Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon) and of course MJ (Zendaya). Franklin K. Lane High School was a New York City public high school located in the borough of Brooklyn. In 2012, the school was closed for “poor performance.” In our universe, Midtown High doesn’t exist. It’s not easy being an aspiring superhero. Perched on a balcony, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) always hopes to be called to the side of the Avengers and leaves a message on the voicemail of “Happy” Hogan (Jon Favreau), his chaperone. The building has a breathtaking view of the nearby viaduct used by the metro. One of its arches appears in another shot, filmed from the 44th st.

Metro Viaduct
As Peter leaves the Delmar Deli, known for selling “the best sandwiches in Queens”, he runs into an alleyway to put on his Spider-Man costume. It passes under the overhead subway at the intersection of 31st St and 23rd Av. Other scenes were shot in the Astoria district, including one where the spider-man swings at the end of his canvas in front of Astoria Blvd station with the Triboro Bridge in the background.

Unisphere

A shot of the Unisphere filmed from a limousine driving on the Interstate. “New York, Queens,” comments the owner of the smartphone, one Peter Parker. This one keeps a kind of diary on video, to the great displeasure of “Happy”, Tony Stark’s driver and bodyguard (Robert Downey Jr). This stainless steel globe, visible in Flushing-Meadows Park, has become the unofficial symbol of Queens. Peter grew up in the Forest Hills neighborhood, like the Ramones whose Blitzkrieg Bop sets the rhythm of the film’s soundtrack.

Staten Island Ferry
One of the most spectacular action scenes brings together the Weaver, the Vulture and a few patient gunrunners on a ferry on its way to Staten Island. As the ship has cast off, Spider-Man jumps aboard it from the roof of the Whitehall terminal. This leap would have a place in the record books. Contrary to the film, the ferries to Staten Island have not carried cars since 2001.
