Web Slinger: a Spider-Man Adventure
The new Web Slinger attraction: a Spider-Man Adventure will take place in Avengers Campus, the new land created in the Walt Disney Studios park. As its name suggests, this world will be dedicated to Marvel heroes and will serve as a recruiting base for all new superheroes on Earth.
It will replace the Armageddon attraction in the same place, already destroyed. Disney California Adventure will have the chance to host the same show in its park this year. The one in Hong Kong will also experience the same happiness as Disneyland Paris next year. The three attractions will therefore have connections between them.
Invasion of Spiderbots
The story of Web Slinger: a Spider-Man Adventure was imagined by the creators of the Spider-Man movies and the writers of the Marvel comics.
Peter Parker works on new technologies for the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (WEB), a company founded by Tony Stark and whose goal is to “develop new technologies for Super Heroes, starting with the improvement of the Spider-Man costume”.
Visitors will then board eight-seater vehicles. In particular, the machines will be able to throw spider webs. During the journey, spiderbots – small spider-like spy robots – will have technical problems. They will multiply, escape from the WEB and invade the Avengers campus. With Spider-Man’s help, children and parents will have to stop the invasion.
New technologies for a new attraction
Web Slinger: a Spider-Man Adventure will be based on new technologies, developed especially for the attraction, and will be an evolution of Toy Story Mania and Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast, two very popular places for young and old in the Parisian park.
Here no joysticks, the gestures of the visitors will be enough to activate the show. The venue will be a mix of real settings and interactive screens. This way, they will be able to seize or send the famous Spiderbots.
3D glasses on the nose, they will be installed in the vehicles for a unique moment for the whole family. This 4D will therefore be composed of special effects and innovative technologies never used before.
If the scenes will be similar during the show, the possibilities to act will be so numerous that it will be really different each time. If a visitor tries the experience several times, he will not be able to have the same sensations.
Web Slinger: a Spider-Man Adventure is likely to be taken by storm by visitors from the moment it opens because it seems so innovative and fun. This will not happen until 2021 and the completion of the Avengers Campus.
