South Street Seaport
Everyday, as he indicates in his radio appeals, the main character waits at South Street port “when the sun is at its highest ” . It’s also here that he decides to attack the mutants in a kamikaze attack, the night after the loss of his dog Sam, his only companion in this devastated New York. He will be saved in extremis by the surprise arrival of Anna.
Metropolitan Museum of Art
The scene of the Metropolitan Museum is original. We can see Robert fishing in the pool situated near the Dendur temple. The spot where the main character is trapped and suspended in front of Grand Central is located on Park Ave, just beyond 42nd street.
Washington Square Park
The park with its famous triumphal arch is situated just across from where Robert lives and during the night in the film it takes on a rather terrifying appearance. An amusing bit of trivia, it was built in 1826 over an old cemetery.
During the first few minutes, Robert is hunting an antelope right in the middle of a deserted Times Square.
Like a lot of iconic buildings, the Flatiron appears several times when the hero’s Shelby GT500 Mustang passes by.
