Once Upon A Time in Hollywood: Los Angeles Opens Its Wings

Movie

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, not exactly a fairy tale…

Once upon a time in Hollywood, a talented actress was murdered in her villa by disciples of the guru Charles Manson. His neighbour, Rick Dalton, is a former star of a western television series who is trying, with his understudy Cliff Booth, to get back in the spotlight. The hippie movement is at its peak and is demonstrating massively against the Vietnam War. A new movement is also emerging, that of liberation of gays and lesbians. A very rich period, having naturally inspired one of Hollywood’s great masters, Quentin Tarantino.

Shooting in the City of Angels means a lot of places to list, some of which are really mythical. Among them, the Playboy Mansion, once owned by Hugh Hefner. The famous house, now owned by Daren Metropoulos, was home to the cameras of the director of Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill.

The Playboy mansion has had its share of prestigious guests (Elvis Presley, John Lennon, Alec Baldwin), sulphurous evenings, scandals (it is notably here that Bill Cosby was accused of sexual assault), but also has many surprises: private mini zoo, gymnasium, 22 rooms and a cave inspired by the Lascaux cave. A real playground.

The former home of the founder of the adult magazine is located in Holmby Hills, part of the “Golden Triangle” with Beverly Hills and Bel Air. Holmby Hills is also known to be the place where Michael Jackson died in 2009 and Lillian Disney in 1997.

The film will be released on August 9, 2019 in the United States, exactly 50 years after the assassination of Sharon Tate, then wife of Roman Polanski.
