Gossip Girl: a reboot of the series on the way
XoXo Gossip Girl
New York’s most feared blogger is back for new columns, each one more inflamed than the last. In truth, it won’t be exactly the same blogger since, beware spoilers, the former Gossip Girl played by Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley), will no longer be there, as will Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively), Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford), Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) and Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick). There is no indication that they will not make cameo appearances in the series, but they will no longer be the center of attention.
The series has risen from the ashes to expand the catalogue of HBO Max, the brand new streaming platform launched by the television giant and creator of Game of Thrones, The Sopranos and Westworld.
The synopsis is already available and can be summarized as follows: “Eight years after the site’s closing, a new generation of teenagers from New York City’s private schools face the scrutiny of Gossip Girl.” Did Dan train a disciple? You think a copycat took his place? The mystery remains but Kristen Bell’s voice could perhaps resonate again to narrate her chronicles.
