After New York in the first opus, Paris and a hint of London in the second, what destination does J.K. Rowling have in store for the adventures of the third part?

Fantastic Beasts 3 go into exile in Austria

During the first feature film Fantastic Beasts, the spectators were able to admire the beautiful city of New York from all angles, magical or Muggle depending on the point of view. The Woolworth Building, the old City Hall station or the Central Park zoo, Big Apple has put on its best wizarding clothes for the coming of Norbert Dragonneau on the American continent as we explained in our New York guide to the 1000 cult places from movies, TV shows, music, comics and novels.

Paris is the central city of the second part of the saga. With the French Ministry of Magic (mentioned in our Guide Paris des 1000 lieux cultes de films, series, music, comics and novels) or one of its entries, the City of Light has been transformed to welcome Norbert and his animals, each as fantastic as the next.

Which location for the third opus?

But then, what will be the third destination that will host the adventures of our dear magician-zoologist? At the end of the film, we can see the famous Nurmengard Castle, a prison for sorcerers located in the Austrian Alps. A clue isn’t enough? J.K. Rowling had fun divulging no less than 28 of them on twitter. Among the many little pebbles, the author responded to a fan curious about the number of installments in the saga by saying “5. Five. Five. Fünf. Cinco. Cinque”. English for the first, French for the next, the third refers to German, one of the official languages of Austria, a logical continuation.

As for the other two Latin-sounding numbers, the first one is in Spanish or Portuguese. J.K. Rowling recently posted a photo of Rio de Janeiro in the 1930s, and had fun tweeting that she could still misspell the name of the Brazilian city even though she had written it many times. Any other major clues to follow?

For the last one, the Italian root is obvious, but where will the former pupil of Poufsouffle go? to your predictions!
