Based in Screen Gems Studio, the production of the fifth installment of the Scream saga also operated out of various locations in Wilmington, North Carolina. That’s how directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett set up shop at Reggie’s, a well-known bar for concertgoers. A way to give the scene a real authenticity. The interiors are exploited as well as the exteriors. It is in front of the bar that a secondary character is killed by Ghostface, on the track Red Right Hand by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. A way to make a nod to the original Scream, whose soundtrack already contained this title.
It was between May and November 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, that the filming of Scream took place in Wilmington. It is in Screen Gems Studios that Amber’s (Mikey Madison) house was entirely built. An important building in the Scream saga since it is the same one in which the conclusion of the first film takes place. The original building is located in California, in a residence closed to the public, at 3871 Tomales Petaluma Road in Tomales.
David Arquette, Courteney Cox and Neve Campbell are the only three actors to appear in every episode of Scream.

A meeting place for fans of rock and over-amplified music, Reggie’s is one of the most popular bars in Wilmington.
Located on a small piece of land, Reggie’s is recognizable by its rock and roll sign and gray brick storefront. With a stage on which local bands perform, the bar is more rock oriented. It is also possible to enjoy cocktails and play pool. Known for hosting festivals, Reggie’s has gained in popularity since its appearance in the credits of the fifth installment of the Scream saga.
